AC Journal October 2026

FASHION WEEK

When fashion starts telling a story again. For this first feature, I suggest you do not simply summarise the shows. You need to take one Fashion Week phenomenon and build a reflection around it. For example, for September 2026: After several seasons dominated by minimalism, fashion seems to be rediscovering its taste for personality. Silhouettes are becoming more assertive, proportions are shifting, historical references are being reinterpreted, and the houses are once again seeking to create an immediately recognisable identity. In Paris, Milan or New York, the same question seems to arise: what remains when clothes are no longer trying merely to be beautiful, but to say something about the person wearing them? That is precisely what makes this Fashion Week so interesting. Beyond the trends that will emerge in the months ahead, it reflects a desire to return to a fashion that is more expressive, more personal and at times more daring. At AC Journal, we will therefore remember less a colour or a specific piece than a broader movement: the return of personality. And that may be the most interesting trend of the season.

ASSERTING YOUR STYLE

Your style should never be a copy. We live surrounded by images. Social media constantly shows us how to dress, which pieces to buy, which colours to wear and even which aesthetic to adopt. The problem is not being inspired; it begins when inspiration replaces our own identity. Having style does not mean owning the latest trend-led pieces. It means knowing what suits you and why. The same jacket can create a completely different impression depending on who wears it. A colour, a fabric, a silhouette or even an accessory can become a true signature when chosen with intention. So this month, our advice is simple: Before adding a new trend to your wardrobe, ask yourself whether it truly feels like you. Your style should be a conversation between what you love, who you are and how you wish to be perceived. Fashion changes every season; your personality deserves to remain.

CAPSULE WARDROBE

For the new season, there is no need to fill your wardrobe with every new trend. A well-considered capsule wardrobe is built first and foremost on a few pieces that speak to one another and work together. A perfectly cut blazer, a white shirt, impeccably tailored trousers, raw denim, a fine-knit jumper, a structured coat and a pair of elegant shoes provide a strong enough foundation to create very different silhouettes. To this, add a few more personal pieces such as a scarf, a beautiful belt, a jewel, a bag or a bold colour to lend the whole look character. This season, prioritise quality fabrics, timeless cuts and a coherent palette of neutral tones, then let the accessories bring that touch of personality that will make all the difference. A good capsule does not aim to follow every trend: it creates a wardrobe in which every piece has its reason for being.

SEPTEMBER DISCOVERIES

The addresses, houses and personalities that caught our attention Each month, AC Private shares its discoveries: houses with which we choose to build new relationships, as well as addresses that capture the spirit of the moment. RESEE Vintage as a new form of luxury. ReSee stands out through a particularly discerning approach to vintage fashion and collector's pieces. More than a selection of clothes, the house offers a genuine perspective on fashion history, creating a dialogue between iconic pieces, rarities and contemporary desire. It is precisely this approach that made us want to develop a relationship with ReSee and add it to our network. For AC Private, vintage is not simply an alternative to newness: it can be the search for a specific piece, an era, a silhouette or simply something no longer found anywhere else. YARASHOEMAKER Craftsmanship in its purest form. Some encounters remind us that true luxury always begins with craftsmanship. YARASHOEMAKER belongs to that category of houses that place making, precision and personalisation at the heart of their approach. A particularly interesting proposition for AC Private, where we are above all seeking experiences and creations capable of carrying a genuine personal dimension. This month, we are especially delighted to have joined this house to our network and to be able to offer our clients a more discreet approach to shoes and artisanal craftsmanship. DOVER STREET MARKET PARIS The fashion address to watch during Fashion Week. Located on Rue des Francs-Bourgeois, Dover Street Market Paris continues to operate as far more than a concept store. Fashion, contemporary creation, photography, art and culture come together there in a constantly evolving programme. For this Fashion Week, the address is hosting several artistic events and conversations, confirming its place among the locations to watch if you wish to discover fashion beyond the runway. THE ROOM The new face of Parisian vintage. Opened this summer on Rue de Turenne, The Room belongs to this new generation of addresses that approach vintage as a true curation-led experience. Here, the appeal lies not only in finding an older piece, but in the way it is selected, presented and placed within a contemporary aesthetic. An address to keep in mind for those looking to build a wardrobe that is less standardised and more personal. CUVÉE NOIRE Coffee becomes a destination. Just steps from Rue des Martyrs, Cuvée Noire is one of those new Paris addresses where the experience matters as much as what is served. Speciality coffee, contemporary architecture and a carefully considered visual identity: the place sits perfectly within this new generation of cafés that become true lifestyle destinations. Because the new fashion addresses are not always boutiques. Sometimes, they begin simply with a coffee. OUR VIEW This month, one thing strikes us particularly: the boundary between fashion, culture and experience is becoming ever finer. A vintage house can become a destination. An artisan can become an experience. A café can become an essential Fashion Week address. And that is precisely what we wish to share through AC Journal: not simply what is new, but what truly deserves your attention.
